Air conditioning units are essential to your home, especially during the summer. When operating, an AC unit’s refrigerant coils take in moisture and condense. This condensation needs to be drained to prevent water damage and leaks in your home. Otherwise, your drain line could get clogged up. How can you prevent and remove AC drain line clogs?
In this post, air conditioning and new heating system installation specialist R.A. Biel Plumbing and Heating shares tips on preventing and removing clogs in the AC drain line.
Reducing the chances of drain line clogs helps prevent costly repairs. There are many ways to prevent these clogs, such as:
A wet/dry vacuum will typically take care of drain line clogs. Secure the vacuum hose to the end of the drain line and suck away! Make sure the connection is tightly sealed to properly get all the clogs out. Some drain lines are more difficult to clean out and access, however. and at times using a wet/dry vacuum won’t work. In these cases, it’s best to hire the pros for a more thorough job.
