Carrier® OptiClean™: Why It’s Recommended in Every Business

SLMP Admin • February 17, 2021

As we’re still living in the present pandemic, the need for cleaner, safer air has never been more important. Some companies recognized this early on and developed new technology to meet the demand. One such company was Carrier®, and through their rapid innovation just last year, they introduced their OptiClean™Dual-Mode Air Scrubber & Negative Air Machine. Since then, the OptiClean has been named one of TIME’s 100 Best Inventions of 2020.

If you want to learn about the OptiClean and how it can benefit your business, here our air conditioning and  new heating system installation  experts at R.A. Biel Plumbing and Heating explain all the details:

Quick Product Features

The Carrier OptiClean is primarily designed to help convert normal hospital rooms into airborne infectious isolation rooms (AIIR). It complies with ASHRAE’s Standard 170 for Ventilation of Health Care Facilities, which means it uses a pre-installed MERV 7 filter and a HEPA filter. The HEPA filter has a 99.97% efficient long life (~40,000 hour) and removes airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. As it removes filtered contaminated air from the room, the resulting negative air pressure, or “vacuum effect,” limits the spread of airborne contaminants into surrounding areas.

Other features of the OptiClean include:

  • Portability and flexibility  – This is ideal when requirements can change quickly and unpredictably because it can be moved easily from room to room and operated vertically or horizontally.

  • It can supplement your existing HVAC  – This means it effectively reduces select airborne particles without replacing or modifying your installed HVAC equipment.

Why You Should Get an OptiClean

Even before the onset of the pandemic, professional  new air conditioning  installers knew that Carrier was already a leading global provider of healthy, safe, sustainable building and cold chain solutions. When the pandemic began, however, they  realized there was an even greater need for better, safer indoor air to minimize the spread of COVID-19, and thus invented the OptiClean as a negative air machine for hospitals treating the infected to help protect caregivers, workers and patients.

This product is so convenient to use that you can easily roll it into any room and plug it into a standard electrical outlet to quickly improve the indoor air quality. The OptiClean is also ideal in commercial settings such as schools, office buildings and other private and public applications!
